Editing as Integral Part of Writing

If you think that writing the text of your paper is the main part of your work, I should declare that you are mistaking, because the process of editing is much more significant.

Writing editing is an integral part of work as it helps you to notice all the mistakes that you have made while writing the whole text both stylistic and grammatical.

Writing editing is helpful for you to follow the train of your thought. Often while writing papers, you are full of various ideas that you want to use in your work. In this case, you can lose the succession of your thoughts and the whole text looks like the stream of consciousness without any logical links.

It is also important to conduct writing editing for you to examine your grammar, spelling skills, and punctuation. It does not mean that you have problems in these fields, but it is common problem that when you are writing a paper, you follow the main idea but not the correctness of your spelling or grammar.

It is a sound concept to give your work to somebody else for critical analyzing of your writing. Often even though we reread our work several times, we do not note some mistakes that we have done. And only another person can see the weak point of your work.

Writing editing will help you to avoid the possibility to hand in your paper unchecked by you. Do not forget about it, because very interesting work can be spoiled by some mistakes and the professors can grade it badly for this reason.

Peak of Writing

Each process in its essence has a peak. Even when you write a paper, this process soon or later come to its peak point. Writing and editing are two sides of one coin. When you write, you cannot omit editing. If you need to edit, you cannot do it till you write something.

Now, let us talk a bit about editing, as a peak of writing. Editing is the process that helps notice the shortages of the paper. It is impossible to write without mistakes. From time to time we can make as light mistakes as well as gross ones. Editing gives a chance to improve the work and get higher grades. So, if you appreciate your time and want to get high grades, then use time for editing.

So, what should you do at first when you start editing? Check the sense of your writing. Does the work have sense? It should!

When you make sure that your work is informative, it is time to work with the details: spelling, grammar, punctuation and stylistic. If you can, you should better consult the method guides, as you can correct one mistake and make two instead.

Only when editing is finished, it is possible to say that writing is over. Writing and editing cannot be separated. One of them makes better the other. Now you know it and you may use this information to improve your works. It concerns as writing an essay, as well as writing a coursework and even a thesis. It does not matte if your work is short or long – editing is important for both of them in an equal degree.
