Religion is perhaps one of the most ancient things in the world. At all times people had something they believed to be very powerful, something that could control their lives and help in different situations.

Religious essay can just discuss the question of religion per se. It is not necessary to consider some particular religions. Still all the religions are about the same things. There is a superior power which has a great influence on people.

The thing that I am most concerned in is why people need this power in their lives. Why it is so important for us to believe that there is something that can change the course of events, something that is more powerful than man.

On the one hand it seems that only man can rule over his destiny. We make all the decisions, we define what is right and wrong, we set our own rules and laws according to which we live.

On the other hand when something happens to us, no matter good or bad, we realize our insignificance comparing to the whole universe. Come to think of it, man is weak and defenseless. Only think of all those cataclysms that happen on Earth. One tsunami, one hurricane, one flood and that is all – thousands of dead people around.

You know what I think. Maybe it is even right that all these disasters happen to us. It is like a sign that we go too far. This superior power wants to say: “People, stop and think what you are doing. You kill each other, steal; you kill yourself with drugs, alcohol and stuff like that. Then maybe you do not need your lives. I will take it and bring another better people”.

Anyway, it was just my point of view. Now let me say a few words about the essay itself. While doing it, you should be concentrated on writing and editing processes. Follow the structure and all the requirements when writing. Editing is something that you should not be lazy to do in the process of writing. Editing will improve your work. What is more it is a possibility for you to evaluate your piece of writing.
