Depressed at Dissertation Writing
Every students faces the challenge of dissertation writing but not far every of them take it close to heart. Some of them are so frustrated that they fall into depression. They are tired of constant working on their projects, writing, editing, proofreading, changing, rewriting, etc. Sometimes they think that all sense of their life consists in writing or editing their dissertations.
What is the reason for feeling unhappy? I strongly believe that if students never get a constant desire of being happy, they would never fall into depression. Happiness is not worth focusing on it. Everyone just has to appreciate what he/she has.
If you are already sick and tired of your dissertation writing and have fallen into depression because of constant writing or editing your paper, this advice is just for you:
- Do not wallow in your emotional stateI was a student myself and had an experience of being depressed by academic study. But what I actually have noticed is that the more I think about mu unhappiness, the more fear I get, therefore, the more involved into depression I become;
- Change your viewpointWhat I mean here is that you should take happiness as the fuel but not as an indicator of your level of quality. Stop complaining on your being unhappy and learn to appreciate what you have;
- Diversify your activitiesThis does not mean you should go shopping every day, then go to the pub or the party instead of your dissertation writing. Just learn to give presents to yourself every day.
Remember, nobody but you make you feel blue, as well as nobody but you can help you find a way out from this emotional state.
